Double-Ended
Circular Tunisian Tapestry
Learn this fascinating and new technique of creating a moiré effect in crochet. Create projects without seams. Make pictures or motifs in 2
colors without stranding. This is a ground-breaking, never-before-seen way of
using Tunisian employing a short, double-ended hook.
Proficiency Level: Intermediate. Please know basic tunisian, including
tunisian knit, purl and reverse tunisian stitch.
Supplies: Must have Clover short
double-ended hook beforehand in size of your choice (more than one would be
good), article #1305-1308. At least 2 colors of yarn appropriate to hook
size (make sure yarn does not split).
Color Composition,
Scale, Stitch and Pattern in 2 Dimensional Design
How do you create enough variations on an afghan in
order to fill a book with over 40 different and unique designs? Get a feeling
for the selection process when seemingly endless possibilities must be narrowed
down. Find out what works, what doesn’t work and why when creating
larger crochet pieces. Making afghans may seem easier than garments
because there is no sizing involved, but other sets of problems present
themselves. This is a good art primer since doing afghans freed me
up to concentrate on more purely visual aspects rather than on garment-making
aspects.
Proficiency Level: Open to all with an
open mind
Supplies: List will be supplied at registration.
Cost for members: $65 for one class and $125 for two classes.
Cost for non-members: $75 for one class
and $145 for two classes.
